Geometric Cube Nail Art

I’ve been falling behind on posting; these nails are from last week. I actually don’t feel like posting today, but am forcing myself, considering I know I won’t feel like next weekend either. I won’t be home much next weekend, but I have already planned out how I’m doing my nails.

For my base, I used New York Color – West Village, then sponged Maybelline – Purple Icon on my tips. To create my cubes I made squares using Revlon – Smoldering, then made the sides using Wet n Wild – Gray’s Anatomy. To finish it off, I used a white Stripe Rite striper to outline my cubes.

Rose Nails for Valentine’s Day

As far as Valentine’s Day goes, I find it very hard to be even semi-original with nails. I went for the classic rose this week.

DSCN1997

I used a black striper to make the outlines of the roses, then filled them in with green and red/pink polish. At the moment, I do not feel like searching for the bottles of polish I used, so if you do want to know what I used, comment and let me know :)

Before I bid you farewell, I’d like you to know something…

It’s true. I really do love you guys. Without you, I would feel pretty lonely in the nail blogging world. Even though I have no problem talking to myself, I really appreciate all of you showing interest in my nails. Thank you <3

Sparkly Valentine’s Day Gradient Nails

Yesterday I just grabbed some polish, and aimlessly did my nails. I had no clue what I was actually doing, but I think it turned out pretty well. I tend to “wing it” a lot!

I first applied 2 coats of KleanColor – Sheer Peach as my base, then created a gradient using Finger Paints – Rose Patina and Sally Girl – Sparkle. Next, I used one coat of China Glaze – Fairy Dust on top of my entire nail, along with a very thin layer of Wet n Wild – Kaleidoscope just extending a bit past the gradient. Then, picked out large holographic glitters from Revlon – Stunning and placed them on the pink gradient . Finally, I applied some holographic silver heart spangles to my ring fingers and thumbs.

Valentine Heart Balloon Nail Art

I wasn’t originally going to paint anything relatively close to Valentine’s Day on my nails this week, but then I realized there are only about three weeks until Valentine’s Day. As I’ve mentioned before (and I’m sure this is not going to be the last time I say it), I’ll take any excuse for themed nails. I’m not a lover of Valentine’s Day, but I’m not a hater of it, either. It’s just another day for me, but some people really get into it, and I can appreciate that.

I used Sally Hansen – Pure White Tip for my white base. I used e.l.f. – Light Red for my red hearts, and OPI – ElePhantastic Pink for my pink hearts. I used a black Stripe Rite striper to make the strings attached to the hearts.

Duochrome Butterfly Wings Inspired by heartNAT

I’ve finally found some time to paint my own nails, as opposed to others’. Today’s post was inspired by these nails over at heartNAT. I fell in love with them as soon as I saw them! I didn’t have a stamp, however, so I freehanded it. I’m pretty happy with it, but wish I wouldn’t have used so much black at the tip.

I used the entire Bohemian Collection by China Glaze for the base, and a black Stripe Rite striper for the black wings. I used white nail polish for the dots.

Have a great day!

7 Nail Art

I’m really tired tonight, as I type this, so please forgive me for not writing much.

I used Sally Hansen – Sun Kissed for my orange, Sally Hansen – Blue Me Away! for my blue, and Sally Hansen – Set The Stage for my gold glitter.

This is the first time I can remember using the same brand for an entire manicure (aside from top and base coat). Pretty impressive, eh? No, not really.

Have a great day and week!

Houndstooth Nail Art

My original idea for my nails this week required a lot more time than I had, so I settled for two of my (many) favourite things: opposite colours and houndstooth.

Both my black and white polishes are half gone, and they would have made nasty looking props to hold, so I went through my house rummaging for black and white objects.

Virtual high five if you know what album I’m holding!

On a side note- I’m going to a nail competition on the 18th, and one of the things I have to do is a basic manicure with a red crème polish and nail art on two fingers in 20 minutes. I would greatly appreciate it if any of you have any simple suggestions for the art. Both fingers have to be the exact same. Thank you in advance.

Have a MARVELOUS day!
