Faint Holographic Galaxy Nails

I’m finally able to post up to date nails because these don’t exactly have an expiration date like holiday themed nails. Actually, these were the nails I wore for New Year’s. They were originally inspired by Doctor Who because I was going to add a red bow towards the cuticle (to represent the 11th Doctor), but decided against it. Some other time, my dear. Some other time.

I used China Glaze – When Stars Collide for the base and sponged on China Glaze – Get Outta My Space, Cosmic Dust, Don’t be a Luna-tic, Take a Trek, Funky Fingers – Jester, NYC – White Tip, and Rimmel London – Silver Bullet. I also used KleanColor – Holo Chrome and Savvy – Touch of Glitter to accentuate some areas. I added some holographic star glitters and made some stars using a white striper. I added a coat of China Glaze – Fairy Dust over it all.

These nails were lots of fun an rather subtle. Next time I’ll use more white so it’s a little more visible.

Thanks for reading! I hope everyone’s doing well :)

Sparkly Valentine’s Day Gradient Nails

Yesterday I just grabbed some polish, and aimlessly did my nails. I had no clue what I was actually doing, but I think it turned out pretty well. I tend to “wing it” a lot!

I first applied 2 coats of KleanColor – Sheer Peach as my base, then created a gradient using Finger Paints – Rose Patina and Sally Girl – Sparkle. Next, I used one coat of China Glaze – Fairy Dust on top of my entire nail, along with a very thin layer of Wet n Wild – Kaleidoscope just extending a bit past the gradient. Then, picked out large holographic glitters from Revlon – Stunning and placed them on the pink gradient . Finally, I applied some holographic silver heart spangles to my ring fingers and thumbs.

Valentine’s Day is nearing! Are you planning anything?

Thanks for reading!

Breast Cancer Awareness Bra and Ribbon Nails

I wasn’t going to include “bra” in the title because I wanted to see if anyone could tell that what I painted was a bra, because I was shocked that the people I showed my nails to needed a lot of hints and guesses to tell that it was a bra on my index finger. I ultimately decided to include it in the title because what if someone was searching “Bra Nails” (very unlikely, but possible :) )? They need some key words to help them get here, right? You’re welcome to those of you who were, indeed, searching for bra nails :)

For my index and ring fingers, I used one coat of Wet n Wild – Black Crème as my base.

For my index finger I used Rimmel London – French Tip White Tip Liner to make my bra. I then used a nameless Funky Fingers mini bright pink polish to make the polka dots.

As for my ring finger- I made a basic ribbon using the nameless Funky Fingers, and then outlined it with my Rimmel London White Tip Liner to make it look like one side was crossing over the other.

For the rest of my nails, I used 2-3 coats of Sinful Colors – Easy Going, and one coat of Kleancolor – Take A Hint to complete my mani.

Have a great day!

NYC–Mint Breeze with L.A. Colors Art Deco–Teal Glitter

I am a bit of a teal, turquoise, and mint color junkie. I picked up Mint Breeze a week or so ago even though I knew I didn’t need it. Let’s be honest- most of us don’t need any more polish of any kind, but it sure is an addiction. I’d say a pretty cheap addiction, too… Well, for the most part; buying every single collection and Chanel polishes proves to not be as wallet friendly.

Anyway, I had no clue as to what I wanted to paint on my nails once I applied Mint Breeze. I then thought that I had an unused glitter striper that would match it pretty nicely.

I also thought about what I wanted on my accent nails, and decided on hearts from Kleancolor – Twinkly Love. I placed them individually onto my nails. Perhaps you picked up on the scratches on the hearts? I guess I picked them up with too much force with my toothpick (behold my strong hand versus the wimpy hearts! haha).

Did any of you pick up on the cracks on my nails? I blame the top coat I was trying.

Revlon-Costal Surf & KleanColor-Holo Blue

Today’s color was blue, for day five of the 31 Day Challenge. I wanted KleanColor’s Holo Blue, but knew it would take a lot of coats to get it opaque, so I put two layers of it over two layers of Revlon’s Costal Surf. I tried to match Holo Blue with a similar color to the best of my abilities, and Costal Surf was the best match. I actually think you could layer it on any color, and it would still look good.

I really like Holo Blue, but am still in the market for a linear holographic polish ;)

Tomorrow is day six, which means violet nails! I have so many pretty purple polishes, so tomorrow will be yet another challenge to just pick one lovely polish.

Wet n Wild-Inferno & Kleancolor-Chunky Holo Poppy

I cut my nails Friday due to a bad day and a marker that got in my way. Anyway, I am sporting shorties for now, and am quite content with them. My only problem is they make my fingers look a bit stubby.

I am wearing Wet n Wild’s Inferno topped with Kleancolor’s Chunky Holo Poppy.

Chunk Holo Poppy is a subtle glitter on Inferno. It was actually somewhat difficult to capture the yellow/green side of Chunky Holo Poppy on my nails. Regardless, I think the two look great together. What do you think?

KleanColor-Chunky Holo Black

I wasn’t feeling very well, so I didn’t put too much effort into my nails for the week. I’m a little ashamed of myself, but they are pretty:

102_2307

Wouldn’t you agree? They are quite fun, and I received many compliments on them.

102_2302

I don’t believe it needs any instructions, but just in case – I applied black nail polish for the base and then added two coats of Chunky Holo Black. I suppose you could use the Holo Black on other dark colors too… I will have to test that… someday ….

Here are the products used:
