Gradient Nails- Double Feature!

Again with the laziness- two different nails in the same post. Hope you don’t mind :)

I from the Sally Hansen HD line, I used DVD and Byte.

The next gradient is pitiful. I’m not a huge fan of the colors together. I should have put a little more thought into it.

I also used more polishes from the Sally Hansen HD line: Spectrum and Byte.

Daisy Nail Art- Double Feature!

To be honest, I just want to finish posting the remaining sets of nails, so I am just putting two similar nails in the same post.

102_2627

102_2630

I used OPI – Italian Love Affair for my base and acrylic paint for the flowers

Onto the next- the same design, but with different colors. Both sets were inspired by my Colorful Daisies Nails.

I used Jesse’s Girl – Midori for the base, and acrylic paint for the rest.

Pink Leopard Nails

Here is a set of neon pink leopard nails that I painted.

I used Wet n Wild – How I Met Your Magenta for my base… and I forget what I used for the pink spots- sorry…

Orly–Mysterious Curse

I really don’t have much to say about this polish, other than I love it. Let the pictures speak for themselves…

After wearing this polish for a day, I decided to add one coat of L.A. Colors – Jewel Tone.

Fish Scales on False Nails

These nails are one of my least favorite nails I painted. I like fish scales, but became tired of painting them on 24 nails! These are the same as my Fish Scale Nails I posted when I began blogging.
102_2614
I used e.l.f. – Mango Madness for the base, and used a gold Stripe Rite striper for the scales.

Revlon–Sweet Tart & Orange One Stroke Flowers

This was my first official attempt at one stroke. I’ve messed around with it before, but was never happy with it. This was the first time I’ve ever been happy enough to put a top coat on and keep it. They’re not perfection, but I’m happy :)
DSCN0565
I used Revlon – Sweet Tart as my base, waited for it to dry, and then used orange and white acrylic paint to paint the flower petals.

Have a great day!
Edit: I forgot to mention that Sweet Tart stained my nails pretty badly, so I would recommend two coats of base coat!

Black and White Polka Dot Nails

Ever since the 31 Day Challenge, I’ve felt a bit more obligated to  post on a more normal basis. Of course, it’s not always practical to post every time I paint my nails. With that said, I have quite a few pictures left in my files. Some are from a while ago. Anyway, today’s post is black and white polka dot nails I painted the same time as the giraffe nails from my previous post.

As you can tell, the sun clearly didn’t want to work with me the day I took pictures of these.

Giraffe Nails

I remember a long time ago, I mentioned something about having a surprise for all of you, that I thought would make you happy. Well, the surprise was that I painted some sets of false nails, for a garage sale my mom was having. I thought, “Why not make some extra money, doing something I enjoy?”

The first set I painted was this set- giraffe:

For the base, I used Rimmel London – Bare Naked, and for the spots, I used OPI – Chocolate Shake-speare.

I realize you may not be as excited as I thought. My reasoning for me thinking you would be happy was I wasn’t posting much at that time, and thought posting the sets of false nails would make up for my absences.

I will be posting the rest of the sets as I find time.

Fruit Fimo Slices on Sally Hansen–Chartreuse Chase

I love fruit fimos, but never use them until summer time. I had a great opportunity to wear them with my newly purchased Sally Hansen – Chartreuse Chase. I wasn’t crazy for the color, but decided to buy it once it kept appearing at dollar stores around me. Who doesn’t want nail polish for a dollar? Plus, I don’t have a large variety of green polishes.

DSCN0493

I think Chartreuse Chase looks better on, than in the bottle.

DSCN0492

I also added some small iridescent hexagon glitters. I used yellow, green, and orange.

Essie–Nothing Else Metals + Spangles and Hexagons

So, after a day of wearing Nothing Else Metals, I decided to make it even more attractive. I just added some purple heart spangles and small, purple iridescent hexagon glitters.

Essie–Nothing Else Metals

Essie – Nothing Else Metals is from Essie’s new collection, Mirrored Metallics. I always try to convince myself that I don’t need any new nail polish collections, but I couldn’t resist having this polish! Of course, there were others (gold, silver, blue, and copper), that were just as beautiful, so I might go back for the one or two…

This polish was a little difficult to capture on camera, so my advice is to just go to the store to see a bottle in person.

I used two coats:

Sunlight:

I’ve never really done any type of review, so here we go:

I really like the effect the polish gives: It is very shiny in both the sun and shade. It also dried unexpectedly fast! The thing I do not like about the polish, however, is that the application was tricky ( I polish my nails by creating a bead of polish in the middle of my nail, then pull it down the middle, and then go back and make two more swipes down the sides of my nails. Because this is a metallic polish, I tried to even the streaks out, but when I did that, it created bald spots). Another thing I wasn’t very happy with was that the polish shows all of your imperfections, including the bald spots, creating bumps. Make sure your base coat doesn’t have any bubbles in it, because it will definitely show up once you apply the nail polish.

So how was my first review? Any complaints? Questions? What is your opinion Nothing Else Metals?

e.l.f.–Neon Pink + Leopard Nail Art

I’ve been wanting to join in on the neon craze, so yesterday I painted my nails with e.l.f. – Neon Pink. They look orange, but once compared to an orange polish, you know that it is, indeed, a pink polish. It has a little bit of shimmer to it, too.

DSCN0439

DSCN0443

I first applied white polish, to make the next 3 coats of Neon Pink pop.

Today, I decided to add some nail art to it, and what better than black leopard spots?!

DSCN0446

DSCN0449

DSCN0450

See the shimmer in the last two photos? It reminds me of China Glaze – Love’s a Beach, but I think Love’s a Beach is more pink. I don’t have it, so I can’t compare, but what do you think?

On a very strange side note: when typing nail polish brands in a post, does anyone else freak out if they aren’t 100% sure they’re correct? By that,I mean the punctuation, capitalization, etc.. For example, I was never sure how to type e.l.f.; I would spell it Elf, E.l.f., E.L.F., e.l.f. and elf. I finally decided to check the website, and did come to a conclusion: e.l.f. :)  I know the bottle is all lowercase and has periods, but thought that it may just be for looks, or advertisement purposes. Anyway, if anyone else wasn’t sure how to correctly type it, now you do :)

Blue Flower Nails

Today is the last day of the 31 Day Challenge! The theme was to recreate your favorite challenge. Reading it, I would assume you were supposed to recreate one of your own nail designs, but from what I’ve seen on other blogs, you’re supposed to recreate someone else’s nails. I chose to use The Nailasaurus’ Day 14: Flowers design. Her nails are much cuter because 1) she is amazing  and 2) her flowers are smaller, and could fit more onto her nails.

DSCN0432

DSCN0437

Again, sorry for my impatience, and the smearing of the nail art- I honestly thought it was dry!

For my base, I used Revlon – Costal Surf. For the petals of my flowers, I used Nina Ultra Pro – Sailor, and for the center of the flowers, I used Funky Fingers – Down to Earth.

And now for my outro:

This is a bitter sweet ending. Some days I would become frustrated with the challenges, and would feel like I was running out of time, but other days I would find it very fun and relaxing. This challenge really did challenge me and made me go out of my comfort zone, and create things that I would have never thought of, otherwise. This was my first challenge, but I know it will not be my last (but don’t expect any more anytime soon! haha!). I hope you all enjoyed my take on the challenges, as much as I did :)

(I hope you won’t be mad at me because I will not be posting everyday anymore! Now, I’m not going to know what to do until I adjust to not painting my nails everyday! haha!)

Neon Paint Splatter Nails

Today’s challenge was to create nails inspired by a tutorial. I decided to use Kayla Shevonne’s Rainbow Splatter Tutorial. I think her nails look better. I really like the colors she used! Regardless, I’m still pretty happy with my nails.

I couldn’t stand the nails I had yesterday, so took it off once I made my blog post. I also couldn’t stand having naked nails, so I decided to just paint today’s challenge on my nails, yesterday.

DSCN0427

DSCN0428

DSCN0429

I am not a very patient person. Especially, when it comes to waiting for my nails to dry, so that is why there is some smearing from my top coat. It kind of makes sense though; naturally, if you paint a wall, and there is a bead of paint, it will run down the wall. So,  my top coat must have been ahead of the game, and wanted to add a realistic effect :D

I used L.A. Colors – Energy Source for my white base, and E.l.f – Neon Yellow, E.l.f. – Neon Green, Sally Hansen – Blue Me Away!, and Funky Fingers – Power Play for my paint splatters.

Tomorrow is the last day of the 31 Day Challenge! The theme is to recreate your favorite challenge.

Super Natural Inspired Nails

Okay, so today is day 29, which meant supernatural inspired nails. Well, I felt kind of weird thinking of ghost and alien nails when it isn’t even Halloween, so I decided to cheat and put a space between “super” and “natural,” making it “super natural,” (as in super nature).

I tried to make my nails look like a super nature scene, with really green plants. (I tried making a dark green tree, but the green used for my grass and the green used for my tree were too similar, so I decided t make it a shimmery tree instead :) )

DSCN0422

How super natural is this? Sparkly grass and flowers… Pretty super if you ask me!

I used Finger Paints – Go Van Gogh! for my green background, and used Finger Paints – Scenery Greenery for my grass patches. My shimmery tree was made with Wet n Wild – Jade. I’m not going to bother writing all of the polishes used for the flowers because I used multiple ones, and you can’t really see them very well, but if you have questions, you can always ask :)

DSCN0424

DSCN0416

Tomorrow’s nails will be inspired by a tutorial. That will be a little tough choosing one, because there are so many good tutorials out there!

Oh, and Happy Fourth of July to all of those celebrating!
