Neutral Mix Nail Art

The final product I received for review from Born Pretty Store included these multi shaped silver rhinestones. I decided to go for a muted look this time.
DSCN4415
I used OPI – So Many Clowns So Little Time for the base of all of my nails. applied one coat of SephoraX – Chaotic to my middle and thumb nails. I then painted a small daisy on my ring fingers. Afterwards, I applied a small triangle rhinestone followed by two rectangular rhinestones to my index fingers.

My friends loved these nails when I had them on. I even miss them now, seeing these pictures from last week.
You can find the rhinestones at Born Pretty along with plenty of other nail art supplies. Be sure to use my coupon code (CY5J61) if you find any goodies!

Holographic Stream Nail Art

Amongst the products Born Pretty sent me for review, these gorgeous purple holographic studs were included. They look so pretty and sparkly in the sunlight. Unfortunately at the time I took these pictures, the sun was hiding.
DSCN4408
I used Nicole By OPI – Show You Care and then used Maybelline – Purple Icon to create a streak down the center of each nail. After those dried, I applied on swipe of China Glaze – Fairy Dust  on top of Purple Icon. I then applied one stud to each nail.

Like I said, these nails looked gorgeous in the sun, and unfortunately, the sun didn’t show up for this little photo shoot.

Rainbow Gear Nail Art

I’ve been so busy with my school work and job that my nails have been out of shape and the effort put into them has been degraded. Luckily, Born Pretty has sent me these really cool rainbow gear decals that look awesome over white polish. I tried them over black  about a week ago and they looked good but not nearly as vibrant as then do on white.
DSCN4420
Here, I have them over two coats of OPI – Alpine Snow and the remainder of my nails are simple black french tips that are slightly angled and curved. I like that they are bold, yet do not take away from my accent nails.

I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on them, including a girl I used to go to school with who asked if I actually painted them on. haha.
If your nails have taken a back seat in your busy life, and you’d like to purchase these rainbow cog decals, head on over to Born Pretty Store to look at them and lots of other nail art supplies. Don’t forget to use my coupon code (CY5J61) to get 10% off your order!

Doughnut/Donut Sprinkles Nail Art

Before I begin this post, I’d like to know the difference between ‘donut’ and ‘doughnut’? Is it just a preference in spelling? Does it matter? Is it a country/regional thing? Spellcheck doesn’t seem to care how I spell it.

Anyyyyhow, my final review for the day are these really fun matte glitters! I feel like the possibilities with them are endless! I chose to make a theme of doughnut (donut?) sprinkles out of them this time, but I have a few other ideas in mind for the future.

DSCN4383

For all but my ring fingers, I used a base of OPI – Bubble Bath. My ring fingers have two coats of Nicole by OPI – Be Ama-zing!, with the d-nut (that’s what we’re calling it now until I decide which spelling I prefer) made using Finger Paints – Don’t Make a Scene and China Glaze – Mahogany Magic. The blue icing (or is it frosting?) is made using Love and Beauty – Turquoise and the purple is made using Julie G – Dream in Pretty. I individually placed the “sprinkles” (or is it jimmies? Actually, I do know that I prefer to call them sprinkles, so that is one question answered haha) using a dotting tool and top coat.

DSCN4385 DSCN4387

I am in love with these nails and am totally tempted to buy a phone case with do--- er, uhm, I mean d-nuts on it now. My friend is rubbing off on me an I think I am now addicted to phone cases.

If you like these matte glitters, you can find them at Born Pretty Store, along with lots of other nail art supplies. Be sure to use my coupon code to get 10% off your order!

Subtle Bling Nail Art

Upon receiving my package from Born Pretty Store, I was really eager to try out these multi colored rhinestones! They were so pretty I didn’t want to overdo things, so I kept it simple.

DSCN4371

I used a base of Orly – Decoded and applied one swipe of a franken glitter polish down the center of each of my nails. to make them a little more notable, I added two small rhinestones surrounding a slightly larger rhinestone on my ring fingers.

DSCN4368

These rhinestones were a lot of fun and I got a lot of compliments on them even though the nail art was minimal. If you’d like to order these rhinestones or any other nail art go over to Born Pretty Store and use my coupon code (CY5J61) to get 10% off your order!

Tiger Decal Nail Art

Hello there!

About a week ago I received a package from Born Pretty Store containing these tiger water decals and some other nail accessories for review. The nails in this post look intricate but are super easy and anyone could do them!

DSCN4364

I the orange I used was Sally Hansen – Sun Kissed, and the white is OPI – Alpine Snow. as for the tiger stripes, I simply cut the ones I wanted and dunked then in water for around ten seconds, slid them off, and applied them to my nails.

Overall, I thought the decals were a perfect way to add some fun to what would have been a boring manicure! If you’re interested in buying these tiger decals or any other nail art, head on over to Born Pretty Store and be sure to get 10% off your order using my coupon code (CY5J61)!

2014 Graduation Nail Art

Last week I graduated from high school. While as a senior, I only had to go to school two days that week, it was enough for me to want to leave and never go back. haha. So much has happened since I last blogged and I’m not even sure where to start because I feel I owe it to you to let you all know what has been happening and what has hindered me from blogging.
However, this post is not about what has happened, it is about my graduation nails that I threw together for my last day as a senior. My school colors were red and grey, so I tried to be a little matchy :)
DSCN4265
I used Nina Ultra Pro – Black for my index finger. The red is Nicole by OPI – Challenge Red-y, the white is OPI – Alpine Snow, and the silver is by LA Colors.
The bows were sent for review by Born Pretty Store. I received a lot of compliments on them and the nails altogether. I applied them simply using top coat. They lasted longer than I thought with simply top coat until I was challenged to move some boxes at work and the white bow got knocked off. No worries though; I was changing them the next day anyhow :)

Neon Mix and Match Nail Art

About a week ago I received some samples for review from Born Pretty Store. I used two of the three samples on my nails for my last week of high school (ever!). I received a lot of compliments on them, especially because they were so bright!

DSCN4257

The white I used was OPI – Alpine Snow. The other colors include China Glaze – Flip Flop Fantasy, e.l.f. – Neon Yellow, and Love & Beauty – Orange.

The marquise studs (#2) used on my index finger are from Born Pretty Store, along with the Nail Stamp decal used on my ring finger. I applied the studs using top coat and I applied the decal as if it were a temporary tattoo for your body, by applying it face down to my nail, then adding a wet cotton ball to transfer it.

Galactic Stripe Nail Art

The third and final product I received for review from Born Pretty Store were these holographic studs.

DSCN4199
I wasn’t 100% sure where I was going when I sat down to do my nails, but I knew that whatever I did, they would be fabulous because anything holographic is fabulous ;)

DSCN4200
For my non accent nails, I used LA Colors – Sea Siren. I then applied China Glaze – Cosmic Dust to half of my nail. Then, I applied one coat of China Glaze – Fairy Dust on top of Sea Siren. Finally, I drew a line between the two polishes using a black striper. The black I used for my accent nails was Nina Ultra Pro – Black. I applied the holographic studs using top coat.

DSCN4205
You can purchase these holographic studs at Born Pretty Store. While you’re there, be sure to check out their other nail art goods. You can also use my coupon code: CY5J61 to save some money on some already reasonably priced products!

Monochrome Bow Mix and Match Nail Art

The second product I received for review from Born Pretty Store were these 3D bows. I chose to use them with mix and match nails and I think they came out quite lovely.

DSCN4149
The bows have a slight curvature on the back, which helps it to stay on the nail better. They have just the right amount of bling for a manicure, with a rhinestone in the center of the bow.

DSCN4141_01

I used OPI – Alpine Snow for my white, Nina Ultra Pro – Black for the Black, and Essie – No Place Like Chrome for the silver. The silver glitter is from LA Colors. I stuck the bow on using nail glue.

DSCN4142

I went to my neighbor’s birthday party on Friday to do their nails and everyone loved my nails. And the best part was the bows lasted through all 12 manicures I gave! I’ll admit I was a little weary they wouldn’t last, but I’m so happy they did!

You can buy these 3D bows or any other nail art goods at Born Pretty Store. Don’t forget to use my coupon code: CY5J61.

Have a great week!!

Delicate Water Drop Nail Art

Hey everyone! I recently received some products from Born Pretty Store for review, and today I have their colorful half water drop rhinestones.

DSCN4113

I used them in a simple and delicate way this time. I also added some blue micro beads around them to accentuate it. I received a lot of compliments on them throughout the week.

DSCN4112

I used a frech base of OPI – So Many Clowns…So Little Time. I then used Rimmel London – French White Tip Nail Tip Liner to create my french tip manicure. For the base of my rhinestones, I used China Glaze – Kinetic Candy, and topped all of my nails off with China Glaze – Fairy Dust. I stuck on the rhinestones and micro beads using an old, slow drying top coat.

DSCN4114

I really like the water drop rhinestones because they aren’t your average round rhinestone.  I also like that they’re pastel because I don’t have any pastel rhinestones, either.

You can purchase these rhinestones at Born Pretty Store. Be sure to use my coupon code (CY5J61) for them or any other nail art product!

Spring Seashell Nail Art

I didn’t realize how behind on posts I was until I uploaded my pictures and saw I still had St. Patrick’s Day nails on my SD card! I’m also really behind on reading blogs as well.

Today’s nails were centered around some products I received for review from KKCenterHK (More on that later :) ).

DSCN4017

For the mint green, I used Revlon – Mint, and the pale pink is OPI – I Love Applause. The gold is OPI – Goldeneye. I used gold striping tape on my pinky. The lace pattern on my ring finger was made using a small design brush from KKCenterHK. I took some inspiration from these nails by Lexi Martone. The seashell stud is also from KKCenterHK.

DSCN4018 DSCN4024

I’ve received a lot of compliments on these nails this week. One friend wants the lace design for her prom nails, and most everyone wants the seashell studs.

DSCN4043

I was sent these seashell studs from KKCenterHK. I got 4.5 mm in gold, however they also have silver and size 2.5 mm. The amount of compliments I received on them was tremendous!

DSCN4048

The brush I was sent was absolutely perfect for the lace design. It has a very fine point to it. Unfortunately, while doing a client’s nails, I went to wipe it clean, and all of the bristles came out completely. Luckily, I added a tiny bit of nail glue to it and stuck it back in. It works just as fine now as it did before. Actually, I think it is more stable now since I know it has such a strong adhesive bond keeping it together.

If you’d like to order the studs, brush, or any other nail art supplies, use my coupon code (nailtreasures) on KKCenterHK to get 10% off your order!!

St. Patrick's Jems Nail Art

Let me first start off by saying I’m sorry for the lack posts. There are things on my do to list with a lot higher of priority. Hopefully I’ll be able to knock them all off by the end of next month!

Today’s nails are those of my client’s. She wanted some fun St. Patrick’s nails and I think I delivered.

photo (5)

All of the polish used was Shellac gel polish. Unfortunately, I don’t know the names because the polish is my school’s and I forgot to read the names.

I used a combination of iridescent green glitter and opaque gold glitter to create a glitter gradient. I placed yellow/orange rhinestones towards the cuticle, and used two coats of gel top coat to secure them. Her ring fingers are simple shamrocks :)

photo (6)

She was very pleased with them, therefore I was pleased. Prior to seeing me, she was never into nail art, and now she always has an idea in mind before our appointments! I’ve got to say that it’s pretty cool having converted someone into a nail art fanatic!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Betty Boop Nail Art + KKCenterHK Review

This week’s nail art was inspired by Betty Boop. A week or so ago I was talking to one of my teachers about nail ideas and she mentioned Betty Boop. I decided to attempt the idea.
The pictures in this post are a little on the ugly side. The lighting was terrible when I went to take the photos.
DSCN3934
For the non accent nails, I used Nicole By OPI – Challenge Red-y with two coats of New York Color – Broadway Burgundy Frost for a bit of red shimmer. I then added square gold studs to all of my non accent nails. My two ring fingers consist of a base of Funky Fingers – Down to Earth topped with Sally Hansen – Set the Stage. I freehanded Betty and Pudgy. To fill the empty space with Pudgy, I added a star gold stud.
DSCN3938 DSCN3944
I was also sent this triangle dish by KKCenterHK for a review. I initially thought I would use it for glitter, but found that it works wonderful for studs that come in little bags.
DSCN3965
The problem with the studs you buy in bags is that when you shake some out to use, they tend to get everywhere and you have to chase them around!
DSCN3966
To combat that problem, I poured my studs into this triangle dish and was able to easily maintain and use my studs. However, when you pour out the studs, the majority of them like to face down. However, using this dish, I found that once you used all of the face up studs, you could easily pick up the dish and hit it lightly against your table, and more studs turn upwards. Easy as that!
DSCN3959
Cleanup is a breeze too! Because of the triangle design, you can easily pour the studs (or whatever else is in the dish) back into it’s packaging!
I don’t normally rave about every new thing I get, but I absolutely LOVE this product! It’s so simple, but incredibly helpful! It’s the simple things in life!
If you’d like to purchase this triangle rhinestone placement dish (which I totally think you should!) for a whopping (kidding- more like incredibly low price) $1.35 USD, head over to KKCenterHK! You can even save 10% with my coupon code: nailtreasures

Polka Dots and Bow Mix and Match + KKCenterHK Review

Today’s post is a week overdue, but that just means there will be two posts this week :)
I was sent a bubble nail foil for review purposes by KKCenterHK, and used it in today’s (last week’s) nail art.
DSCN3926
I used Nina Ultra Pro – Black for the black polish. The white nail polish is OPI – Alpine Snow. I created the holographic polka-hexagons using Sephora by OPI – Beam Me Up Hottie! and for the base of my ring finger and thumb, I used Essie – No Place Like Chrome. I then the bubble foil and foil glue to add on the holographic foil. The bow was made out of clear acrylic and pink glitter.
DSCN3898
DSCN3927
As you can see, the top coat completely ruined the holographic goodness of the foil, and crinkled it a lot. I think if you were interested in using it, skip the top coat.
If you’d like to purchase this nail foil or any other nail art supplies, head on over to KKCenterHK and use my coupon code (nailtreasures) to get 10% off of your order!
Have a great week :)
*Foil and nail glue sent for honest review. I am not being paid for this post.

Hamlet Nail Art

I’m a little bummed Valentine’s day is over because now I can’t cop out and do hearts on my nails when I’m not feeling very creative. Plus, I was really getting into the pinks and reds.

My nails for the week were inspired by Hamlet by William Shakespeare. It was a pretty good book. I mean, it must have been good enough to put on my nails, right?

DSCN3776 DSCN3788

I wanted a very muted base color, so I used OPI – Glints of Glinda. I used three coats, and it is still sheer enough that you can see my visible nail line, but I've gotten over the compulsive need for opaque polishes. Also, I think it fits these nails very well.

I used acrylic paint to add all of the flowers and skull. The skull is obviously Yorick’s, and is a very symbolic piece of the work. The pearl represents the pearl in the wine at the fencing match. The flowers are all of those that Ophelia handed to everyone, and the crown is pretty self explanatory.
