Bunny and Carrots- Easter Nails

Oh, Abby, Abby. You should be ashamed! ASHAMED! You lied to your readers, saying you would be posting like a mad man, but took your good time. You are a liar!

You’re right, Abby; I should be ashamed! I am very sorry, my dear readers! I’m also sorry for not posting these nails sooner, seeing as Easter is tomorrow! I need to get my shit together!

For my Easter manicure, I knew I wanted to paint carrots, but then was convinced by a friend to paint bunnies, so I decided to just go with an accent nail for my bunny, and carrots for the rest.

I for my carrot nails I used China Glaze – Tree hugger as my base, then used New York Color – Peaches ‘N Cream for my carrots, and China Glaze – Starboard for the leaves on the top of the carrots.
For my accent nails, I used New York Colour – Lavender Cupcake for my base. For my bunny I used a white striper for the outline, black and white polish for the eyes, and Revlon – Sweet Tart for the nose.

Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a great rest of your weekend!

Oh, and sorry if the self dialogue in the beginning was a bit confusing. I have to entertain myself somehow :)

Oz: The Great and Powerful Inspired Nails; Glinda (Born Pretty Store review, as well :) )

I told you that I wasn’t done doing Oz inspired nails! Today’s post includes Glinda inspired nails and a review of Born Pretty Store’s Colourful Crystal Rhinestones.

First up, let’s talk about my Glinda nails :)

DSCN2394

Once I saw Oz, I knew I needed to replicate Glinda’s crown. Unfortunately, I knew the plastic rhinestones I already had wouldn’t do, but then Born Pretty asked if I would like to do a review for them, so I chose their crystal rhinestones.

DSCN2393

I used 3 coats of OPI – I Theodora You, then created a glitter gradient on all of my nails (except my ring fingers) using e.l.f. – Golden Goddess. On my ring fingers, I created a small star-like crown using Wet n Wild – Goldmine. Then I simply placed a crystal rhinestone in the center. Topcoat and done!

And now for the review!

As I previously mentioned, Born Pretty Store sent me  their ‘144 pcs Bornpretty Colorful Crystal Rhinestones SS10 Acrylic UV Nail Art’ for a review.

DSCN2421

I chose these crystal rhinestones to review because I had never tried crystal rhinestones; only plastic.

As you can see, they glisten many different colours in the sun…

DSCN2422

… they also show off all of their colours in the shade as well!

DSCN2428

While I love how colourful they are, my absolute favourite thing about these rhinestones is that they don’t cloud like plastic ones do:

Before top coat…

Once top coat is applied…

DSCN2434
Note how the plastic rhinestone (on top) clouds, while the crystal one doesn’t. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that!

I’ve never really used that many rhinestones in my nail art before, but I can sense that I’ll be using rhinestones a lot more now!

Born Pretty Store Colorful Feather Nail Art Water Decals Stickers Review

Today I have a review of Born Pretty Store’s feather water decals. They were sent to me  from Born Pretty Store for review purposes.

Here, I have them shown on e.l.f. – Purple Pleaser, along with a coat of top coat:

DSCN2314

They are water decals, which means you cut out the picture you like, remove the plastic coating, and dip it into water for 10-20 seconds.

Here they are without top coat:

You can see that the large feather on my ring finger is hanging over a little bit, due to the size of my nails.
I tried fixing that by taking a file and gently filing downward…

DSCN2323

… That didn’t work out as planned; it tore the end of the nail art decal. Next time, I’ll either try to place it so I won’t have that problem, or I’ll use some cuticle nippers to cut the excess decal.

And, for your enjoyment, here are some more pictures of the finished manicure:

I think the 11pcs Colorful Feather Nail Art Water Decals Stickers are an excellent way to acquire a feathered nail art manicure without going through the hassle of real feathers. They lay flat, as it it isn’t even there, and are super easy to apply!

Here is a picture of some of the other feather designs that are also in the package:

I can’t wait to try out the rest!!

Delicate Purple Bow Nail Art

Before I go into my nail art, I would like to first point out that I hate the cold weather. It makes my nails super brittle, and they broke once more. *sigh* Nevertheless, I can deal. It actually causes me to go out of my comfort zone a little, and venture into rounded nails. I really like rounded nails (mostly on others) because they just seem so delicate and dainty.

Onto the nails!!

DSCN2302

I’ve really been enjoying all of the sheer polishes I have, lately. Again, something that is a bit beyond my comfort zone; I’m used to opaque polishes, where you can’t see my free edge.

DSCN2296

DSCN2299

I used Rimmel London – French Rose for my base, then used Julie G – My Private Palace for my glitter gradient.
I made the outline of my bow using a black stripe rite striper, then filled it it using e.l.f. – Lilac. I then used a white polish to make my dots.DSCN2304

Have a great day!

Studded French Tip

Hello all!

I think I have hit a spot where I don’t have time to post, and when I do I just don’t feel like it. I’m lazy. I know. I’m sorry!

Fortunately, that means I will be posting like a mad man, trying to catch you all up on what’s been going on (okay, maybe not a mad man; I’ve only done my nails twice since my last post, but I’ll be doing my nails this weekend, have a review for you all, and have a bit of a DIY project up my sleeve.

Onto the part you’ve all been waiting for…

DSCN2257

I’ve really been into the sheer polishes lately (see -soon to be- next post)! I wanted to go for something a bit more simple, yet eye catching. I settled on a simple, somewhat dramatic, black tip. Next, I added some round studs in the center, and then added gold micro beads to align the rest of the tip.
I used 2 or 3 coats of OPI – Don’t Burst My Bubble for my french base, then used Wet n Wild – Black Crème for my black tip.

Thanks for reading and being patient with me!!

Oz: The Great and Powerful Inspired Nails: Logo

Great news! Oz comes out this Friday in the States!! By now a lot of you are probably getting sick of hearing about it from me, no? Even if you are, I still hope you’re not annoyed with my Oz themed nails :)

DSCN2157 DSCN2154
DSCN2153
I used two coats of Rimmel London – Camouflage for my green base on my ring fingers, then used Orly – Glitz for the Oz logo. On the rest of my nails, I used two coats of Orly – Glitz, followed by one coat of OPI – When Monkeys Fly!.

When Monkeys Fly! is a really pretty glitter from the new collection by OPI inspired by the new Oz movie. The only problem is the large gold glitters tend to curl.

I hope to be able to create more Oz inspired nails after seeing the movie (no worries- I won’t give away any spoilers. However, I may be inspired by something from the movie, but I’ll do my best to stray away from them… No promises though!)

Off to see the Wizard!
